About BCA

Who We Are

Buckinghamshire Community Action is the Rural Community Council for Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.  We offer help and support to local voluntary groups and community organisations working closely with both the voluntary and statutory sectors.  We promote and enable true partnership working at strategic, operational and local levels, aiming to ensure that community development is understood by all.

Buckinghamshire Community Action is a member of the national Rural Community Action Network.

What We Do

Within our rural remit we promote a range of community development initiatives within the rural areas of Buckinghamshire.  This includes Village Halls Advice, Community and Village Appraisals, Parish Maps, support and advice for village shops, pubs, post offices and a whole host of support for environmental projects.  We also assist local charities with a funding advice service and are able to give guidance on charity operational matters e.g. constitution development.  In addition there are several attached project workers covering specialist areas such as:

The Area We Cover

From our offices near Aylesbury we act as a countywide body seeking to provide help to all charity or voluntary sector groups based within Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.  This is reflected in the wide range of support we offer and in the information we provide.

Access to Information

At our Bierton (Aylesbury) Offices we have a library which holds an extensive stock of publications on a wide range of subjects dealing with charity and voluntary sector issues, sustainable community development and rural issues and we hold government documents relating to all aspects of regeneration, social exclusion and departmental policy statements.  A community internet service is also available for use from within the library.  Members can also have use of our photocopier, audio-visual equipment and portable loop.
